Reminder to share the road with farm vehicles

Whitby, Ontario – The Regional Municipality of Durham would like to remind residents that harvest season is coming soon. Drivers may experience temporary delays on rural roads due to slow moving farm machinery. Motorists are asked to be patient and cautious when sharing the road with these vehicles.
When: Harvest season starts in the fall and will continue until the ground is frozen.

The Regional Municipality of Durham is advising residents and businesses in Sunderland of mandatory water restrictions. Residents and businesses are required to discontinue all non-essential indoor and outdoor water use during this time.
When: Tuesday, September 5th until Sunday, October 15th.
Where: Sunderland in the Township of Brock.

Mosquitoes test positive for West Nile virus in Uxbridge

Whitby, Ontario – Durham Region Health Department has received notification that adult mosquitoes in Uxbridge have tested positive for West Nile virus.
The positive batch of mosquitoes were collected from one of the Health Department’s mosquito trap sites located in Uxbridge. Municipal Water Supply Public Access Not Available

The Municipal Water Supply public access located at the Foster Hewitt Memorial Community Centre in Beaverton, will remain closed until further notice due to Mechanical Issues. Please use the Beaverton Harbour public washroom located on Simcoe Street, the Rick MacLeish Memorial Community Centre or the Sunderland Memorial Arena for small quantities of water. For large quantities, please contact the Region of Durham by dialing 311.
