Whitby, Ontario – In partnership with Public Safety Canada, Durham Region will be accepting applications for the Community Safety and Well-Being (CSWB) Fund: Building Safer Communities Grant Program. This grant program supports initiatives that address youth justice involvement and violence in Durham Region communities.

Join Durham Region Transit (DRT) at it’s annual Public Information Centres (PICs). Starting March 18, 2024, DRT will be hosting its annual PICs across Durham Region. DRT’s service design team will be onsite to answer questions and inform the public on their transit network, planning process and the future of public transit service in Durham. Electric vehicle charging infrastructure expands across the region

Whitby, Ontario – Electric vehicle (EV) charging stations are becoming more commonplace throughout Durham Region. Today’s announcement of $2.4 million in federal funding from Natural Resources Canada (NRCan) will enable the installation of 259 new EV charging stations across Durham Region. The funding, valued at $605,000 for Round 3 and $1.8 million for Round 4 of the Zero Emission Vehicle Infrastructure Program (ZEVIP), provides up to 50 per cent funding for EV chargers. Free tax filing help is available to residents living with low income

Whitby, Ontario – Durham Region residents who earn a low income, or who have no income, can get help with filing their taxes for free. Through tax filing, eligible residents can access benefits and credits that could put money in their pockets and help cover basic needs. There are more than 40 benefits and credits in Ontario; many can only be accessed through tax filing.
