Compost Giveaway events are being held across the region from April 27 to June 8

Whitby, Ontario – The Regional Municipality of Durham has teamed up with the area municipalities to offer free compost to residents at special events taking place across the region.
When and where:
Saturday, April 27 from 8 a.m. to noon
- Ajax Operations Centre, 800 Salem Road North, Ajax
- Lakeview Park (parking lot), Kluane Avenue, Oshawa
Saturday, May 11 from 8 a.m. to noon

Recycle your batteries during the week of April 22

Whitby, Ontario – The Regional Municipality of Durham is reminding residents to place their used household batteries out for recycling on their blue box collection day, during the week of April 22.
When: Spring battery collection occurs from April 22 to 26 on blue box collection days.
Where: Households across Durham Region who currently receive curbside collection services.
